Too often this water is turned from a precious gift into a dangerous element. This is due to pollution and environmental deterioration, both modern phenomena caused by increasing industrialization and by the sometimes abominable action of human beings. For this reason it is necessary it treat water today to take steps to make the water we find in nature usable. There are two important objectives to water treatment.
- To use water that would otherwise not be safe for a specific application
- To dispose of pollutants from industrial process or sewage at a percentage of impurity that has been lowered to a level that is not harmful
